Clement Clarke Moore wrote the poem "Twas a Night Before Christmas" in 1822. The poem is now read by families on Christmas Eve, and has become a tradition in many households. This poem instituted the combination of Santa Claus with a sleigh and reindeer.

T’was late in September, when all through the crowd
No Tribe rooter was stirring, not one fan was loud
The club seats were empty and the bleachers were bare,
Every fan hoped the offseason, soon would be there.
The few, the Tribe faithful, thought back to the day,
When the team was successful, or at least was ok
But the box score was grim, the Tribe losing the game,
The fans could only be happy when the offseason came.
With the prospects arriving, and a good trade or two,
The Indians misery, soon would be through.
With LaPorta and Rondon almost ready to play,
The Tribe was improving, day after day.
With the lights of Progressive, brilliantly burning,
The table of the Tribe, was swiftly turning.
Though in the past years, they’d run out of steam,
The Tribe’s new manager was poised, to resurface the team.
With the Nats, Manny Acta, gone the Indians way,
We had a new hope, a captain on our sleigh.
The Tribe would be ready, to fly up from the cellar,
A roster of players, the great and the stellar.
Twas Sizemore! And Hafner! And Carmona! And Wood!
Ok maybe the Tribe, would not be so good.
But at least there were players, like Martinez and Lee,
Oops my bad, I forgot, please excuse me.
So the Tribe had lost many a man,
But never the less, to win was our plan.
So we’d lost Martinez, Lee, and Sabathia too,
And Westbrook's contract was just nearly through.
But the Tribe had a chance, a long shot at least.
For the AL Central, was no AL East.
And with this in mind, Manny would begin,
Maybe not this year, but in the future, to win.
