According to Pierre LeBrun of ESPN.com, the Chicago Blackhawks and young star forwards Patrick Kane and Jonathan Toews may be closing in on a mutli-year deal to keep them in Chicago.

Although there were few details that LeBrun would divulge he did say that a deal could be done within the next two weeks.

If this is more than just a rumor it is great news for Blackhawks fans as they can breathe a collective sigh of relief.

Contract status' of Kane and Toews have hung over the start of the season and has left many wonder what they are both worth and if the entire team needs to be blown up to keep the two of them.

If the Blackhawks do happen to get a contract done with both Toews and Kane we the fans should have a clearer view of what the 2010 off-season holds and who actually might be on the roster bubble.

But as of right now it is all speculation and I know I like many of Blackhawks fans hope that a deal can be done sooner rather than later
