When was the last time anyone described Brett Favre's style of play as cold bloodily efficient? Clinically flawless?

Probably never, since for most of his career he has been the polar opposite of that. Along with the fact that most sportswriters probably can't spell efficient or clinical, much less use them in context.

But the gunslinger has traded in those pearl handled Colt 45s for a scalpel and a gown. With the arguable exception of the Pittsburgh game where he was thrown out of sync by a combination of poor refereeing and poor play calling from his coaching staff, Brett has been nearly flawless in his execution this season.

I suppose if you "cut their hearts out", you don't really need to "blow their heads off".

Or something like that.
