Coming into the EPL season, many pundits expected Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester United, and Liverpool to improve on their performances from a year ago.
So far, only Arsenal have been so lucky.
Following the dramatic exit of longtime favourite Thierry Henry, the Gunners currently sit atop the Premiership.
Chelsea, meanwhile, have already seen Jose Mourinho get the sack—and have struggled to keep pace with Arsenal, Manchester United, and a surprising Manchester City side.
As for United—Alex Ferguson's club seem to be stuck in a loop of draws, and suffered a painful 1-0 loss to Manchester City.
That said, the Red Devils look to have found their form after beating Sunderland, Everton, and Wigan—the last by a crushing 4-0 margin.
Beating Roma at Old Trafford in an upcoming Champions League showdown would surely taste sweet for United fans—and for Ferguson himself.
Liverpool, finally, were tabbed by many as dark horse title contenders, but they've fallen behind the top three.
With fans growing restless, the clubs are gearing up for another round of European Championship qualifiers—and a brief respite from the pressure of the Premier League.
Even as English fans get together to cheer on our country, though, we can't help but wonder about where the Premiership is headed. Some key questions:
Will Avram Grant rise to the challenge at Stamford Bridge?
Will Fernando Torres and Steven Gerrard get Liverpool back on track?
Will Manchester United be able to keep pace with Arsenal?
Will Sven Goran Eriksson lead Manchester City to a spot among real giants of English football by the end of the season?
Only time will tell...

u a rosenborg fan by any chance?! :p
nice read, though im not sure liverpool are quite in deep trouble just yet! i think ten cate will get chelsea playing some very good football, so if grant is up to the task tactically and with his man management i think chelsea will be right back up there, if they get along working together of course.
will be interesting to see who city sign in january because although their first team is doing pretty well up until now, after the first choice 14 or 15 players i think they lack quite a bit of depth at the moment, relying on emile empenza in particular as the spearhead of their attack will see them found out over the course of the season so im sure sven will have a few more he wants to bring in in january.

Hey Karl, thanks for commenting.
No, I'm not a Rosenborg fan:p I'm a Viking fan and will be until the day I die.
I do agree with you regarding Liverpool's situation, but as for the title I do belive they need to pick it up a fair bit. As we've learned from the previous seasons the top three/four don't usually drop many points. So if they're serious about winning the premier league this season, they have to settle on a basic starting line-up. I do believe that Bentiez' rotation system is ruining their morale, since apparently no one is good enough.

As a sanguine Manchester United fan, i got to say that Man Ucan still clinch this season's titile. Arsenla will stumble somewhere down the line, and i suppose it will be soon on Nov 3 when we face them at the Emirates. Chelsea has lost themsevles in a 'nowhere' situation. They cant get themsevles out of the conundrum...and as for Liverpool...let's c what's Rafa is up to...and no comments for Man City!

Hey Sheikh, thanks for commenting.
Yeah, I hope that United is on a good winning streak and that we'll get Arsenal on November 3rd. And as a norwegian it's gonna be interesting to see what Ole Gunnar Solskj r can do with the strikers.

i really hope that ten cate can make a difference for chelsea, and quickly.
i don't know what avram grant's thinking but chelsea hasn't been playing too well, to say the least.
there's some rumors that chelsea's bidding for ronaldinho...it'd be really interesting to see what happens if they actually get him.
