Another Seleção Dream Come True: Fábio Simplício

Fábio Simplício met up with many old friends in his first calling to the Seleção Brasileira.

Friends from his first club São Paulo, where for 12 years he played, have made him feel very much at home, as Brazil prepare to play a friendly versus England in Doha, Qatar.

- I pratically grew up with Julio Baptista, played with Luís Fabiano and also Kaká, I am amongst friends, and very happy. Especially because I had lost all hope of one day being called to the Seleção Brasileira.

Fábio Simplício seemed to be lost in Italian football after his transfer in 2004 to Parma.

However now at Palermo, apart from gaining the confidence of manager Valter Zenga and the admiration of fans, Fábio was surprised to see his name on the list of those called up for the Brazilian friendlies versus England and Oman.

- When the qualifiers were over, I thought that it would not be possible anymore to be called to the Seleção. After all, the group is very good and seems defined. But the opportunity has presented itself and I'm very grateful for this.
