Nearly two years ago Jake Locker’s football career looked like it might be finished forever. On November 10th, 2007 Oregon state Safety, Al Afalava’s helmet smacked into Lockers helmet as Locker put his head down on a 5 yard run. Al Afalava got up…. Locker did not. For minutes Locker laid motionless on his stomach until an ambulance came onto the field and carted him away. The Washington huskies lost the game 23-29 despite a late 4th quarter rally. Locker returned to the sidelines in the 4th quarter out of uniform and wearing a neck brace. Locker and the Washington Huskies will take on the Oregon State Beavers needing to win there all of there three remaining games to become bowl eligible. The Huskies will have to stop the best passing Quarterback in the conference, Sean Canfield. Huskies Quarterback Jake Locker however is leading the Pac 10 in total yards per game. The Huskies have not won a road game since 2007 and this game will be the most important road game for them in two years. The trick for Washington will be stopping the Rodger brothers they can run and catch the ball and both provide speed Washington has not seen yet the defense will have a hard time slowing them down and will need to for a win. As a fan of Washington I would like to say Washington will pull up the upset but I doubt it. Hopefully the game will be cleaner then it was the last time as numerous fights were broken up and players kicked out of the game, not to mention the helmet to helmet hit on Jake Locker. This game will mean everything for the fans and the players. Oregon State is bull eligible and already with 6 wins. My prediction is Washington falls 35-31. This game will be full of energy and Washington will do what they have done all year and keep it close.
