According to local CBS affiliate WVLT in Knoxville, Tenn., three University of Tennessee football players were arrested early Thursday morning after robbing a man with semi-automatic pellet guns.
The three players are now facing charges of armed robbery.
A member of the UT Sports Information Department confirmed that Nu'Keese Richardson, Janzen Jackson and Michael Edwards were arrested around 2 a.m. Thursday.
The incident happened at the Pilot convenience store on Cumberland Ave.
Police say the men, armed with a small semi-automatic pellet gun, robbed a person in the parking lot.
Police arrested them a few minutes later.
Apparently, the three men ignored any attempt at discretion and wore their Tennessee football team-issued t-shirts while robbing the man.
Football head coach Lane Kiffin was recently quoted in The Independent Florida Alligator boasting how defensive-line coach and recruiting coordinator Ed Orgeron was an invaluable tool in recruiting, coaching and the go-to assistant for keeping players in line.
“He deals with a lot of our discipline and has done a phenomenal job with that,” Kiffin said.
“We’ve had zero arrests in 11 months here.”
