Redskins Lose Horton For Season

Bryan Brackney by Analyst Written on November 11, 2009
The Washington Redskins have announced that they have placed saftey Chris Horton on injured reserve. Horton broke his left toe in week ten, and will miss the remainder of the 2009 season. Horton lost his starting job to Reed Doughty.

To take his roster spot, the Redskins signed running back Quinton Ganther. Ganther will add depth at running back, where the Redskins are short handed this week. Redskins starting running back Clinton Portis did not practice today.

According to Rick Maese on twitter, Horton will have toe surgery latter today. Ganther played with the Tennessee Titans in 2008, where he was used a fourth running back, and a short-yardage back.
