Browns Sign Free Agent Linebacker
The Associated Press is reporting that the Cleveland Browns have signed veteran free agent linebacker Josh Stamer. Stamer will replace Eric Barton's spot on the 53-man roster. Barton was placed on IR earlier this week.
Stamer last played with the Tennessee Titans, but he was released just before the start of the 2009 season. Stamer will provide depth at inside linebacker, where the Browns have lost both starters.
David Bowens will start inside for Eric Barton. Bowens was being used as the Browns starting left outside linebacker. Kaluka Maiava is the other starter inside, and Kamerion wimbley is the Browns star outside linebacker. Alex Hall will likely fill in for Bowens.
