With the Tigers 10 games out of first in the AL Central, GM Dave Dombrowski might be forced to trade one of his top players to open up some of the payroll.
Magglio Ordonez's name has come up as of late because of his big contract and fast start. It wouldn't make sense for the Tigers to keep him on their payroll after opening up the bank on pitchers Jeremy Bonderman, Nate Robertson, Dontrelle Willis, and hitters Miguel Cabrera and Carlos Guillen.
With the Tigers 10 games out of first, they could trade Ordonez for prospects and start rebuilding their minor league system. If the Blue Jays hang in the race for the playoffs, they could potentially be a good fit for him.
Meche not coming to Cubs?
According to internet rumors, Gil Meche was reportedly drawing interest from the Cubs. However, Meche laughed off the rumors and Royals executives are denying it.

When does Maggs' contract run out? 2009? This could be a very real possibility for the Tigers, who have nobody but Rick Porcello left in the minors. They probably could pull in some real good young prospects for Ordonez.
Interesting stuff.

The Tigers should definitely trade Maggs, he is supposed to be a hitter, when tonight against the Padres he went 0 for 4. Also the Tigers should think about moving some of the minor leaguers such as Clete Thomas and Matt Joyce.
