Jamie Noble Has Retired

Hi

According WWE.com Jamie Noble has announced his retirement from pro wrestling. A  shame in my view I did like him. It wasn't due to the attack from Sheamus he was just called it quits. However it does raise a question

What if one of these lower mid card wrestlers did get a serious injury and have to retire. How would it be handled by the WWE?

It's a tough one. If they were in the upper card like an Undertaker or The Rock you can give them a huge match at a big PPV aslong as the injury isn't too serious. If they are in the mind card or lower mid card in Noble's case how do you handle it. Just dropping them like they have been released isn't right as injuries are 99% of the time caused by complete accident.

The one example to look is a Darren Drozdov otherwise known as Puke or Droz . He was not a particularly good wrestler compared to some  but he was a very solid mid-carder. However in a house show he suffered a horrific neck injury due to a terrible accident in a match against D'lo Brown. A botched powerbomb led Droz to be driven straight into the mat headfirst. Imagine the Brock Lesnar/Hardcore Holly powerbomb but at a even greater angle. It wasn't intentional obviously and was just a terrible accident.

The accident left him a quadriplegic. A terrible shame.

I sadly missed the show after the accident happened so I don't know how much coverage it got on the show. However when things happen like this they need to mentioned on the televised broadcast. It does need to be dealt with carefully though. If it is a serious injury like the injury sustained by Droz it needs to be said in a very similar way to when Jim Ross had to try and explain the tragic events at Over The Edge in 1999. It needs to be made clear that it isn't a wrestling angle.

Injuries are sadly inevitable and they have happened and will happen again. However they do need to be acknowledged more. In the case of The Undertaker it's understandable because it doesn't fit with his character. Fortuantly with injuries they are becoming more open. Batista and John Cena had their injuries announced.

But what if it wasn't them and and was Jimmy Wang Yang and Primo. Would the world be told if their career suffered a major injury setback. I have to doubt it
