Start A Petition To Boycott ESPN

Anthony Burke by Contributor Written on November 09, 2009

To Whom It May Concern:

I find myself in a complete agreement with the article concerning the inappropriate news journalism being displayed by ESPN.  I have for sometime concluded that ESPN has become more of a sensational news presentation, e.g., TMZ and People Magazine, instead hard sports news.  And apparently their viewership is faltering...

I wish that CNN SI was still is the update sports business.  Without  competition  in sports news broadcasting and coverage, a source like ESPN report or print, even slander whom ever they desire.  ESPN was not always flagrant in their news reporting.  What started out as a great idea to keep sports fans abreast on current games and scores has turned into the sports news agency from hell!

I am willing to sign any petition to the FCC to attempt to reel in ESPN and to address this issue.  It should not have to take a corporation (NFL) that has vested interest in what ESPN is presenting to the publis, e.g., ESPN cancelling the "Hard Knocks" serial because of the images of football players that were being portrayed.

I do believe that ESPN has it out for the Oakland Raiders and Al Davis.  ESPN seems to forget that Mr. Davis owns the Raiders, not Chris Mortensen, Jay Mariotti or Pseudo Prof. John Clayton or ESPN or the NFL as a matter of fact.  The fact-less reporting and spreading of rumors is evident.  Balanced reporting, that is, both sides of an issue should be presented to the public and then the public can decide and make its own opinion. The FCC needs to chastise ESPN in this regards.

So I'm in favor of boycotting the ESPN!
