David Toms: Toms finished T5 at Olympia Fields and T5 last year at Oakmont. He should be in contention on Sunday if he plays behind all the talent he has.
Appearances: 11
Best Finish: T-5 (2 times)
Best Round: 67 (2005)

40. Brett Quigley: Quigley's last four finishes are T6, T25, T15, and T10. I believe he can keep the momentum going and get a good finish at Torrey Pines.
Appearances: 5
Best Finish: T-28 (2003)
Best Round: 65 (2003)

41. Sean O' Hair: O' Hair hit his stride in the March by winning the Pods Championship and following that up by finishing T3 at the Arnold Palmer Invitational. At 25, he has all the talent in the world.
Appearances: 2
Best Finish: T-26 (2004)
Best Round: 71 (2006)

42. J. B. Holmes: Holmes appears to be hitting his stride at the right time. In his last three events on the PGA Tour he's finished T17, T10, and T20. The long hitter might have a chance this week if he can keep it in the fairways.
Appearances: 2
Best Finish: T-48 (2006)
Best Round: 69 (2003)

43. Bart Bryant: Bryant has made the cut in his last four events this season and played decent in 2006 at Winged Foot. He's hitting lots greens, ranking 21st in GIR.
Appearances: 4
Best Finish: T-32 (2006)
Best Round:
71 (2006)

44. Boo Weekley: Weekley won the Verizon Heritage earlier this year. He can win this mainly because he ranks 11th on the PGA Tour in GIR percentage, which is very important in a major like the U. S. Open.
Appearances: 1
Best Finish: T-26 (2007)
Best Round: 72 (2007)

45. Ben Crane: He finished 6th at the Players Championship and then 5th at Colonial so he's hitting his peak at the right time. He ranks 3rd overall on the PGA Tour in scrambling and is playing pretty good golf this year. I like his chances.
Appearances: 2
Best Finish: 62 (2006)
Best Round: 72 (2006)

46. Davis Love II: Love will be teeing it up for the 18th straight time at the U. S. Open but he has not won a PGA Tour event since the 2006 Chrysler Classic of Greensboro.
Appearances: 19
Best Finish: T-2 (1996)
Best Round: 68 (1993)

47. Charles Howell III: Howell has never been in contention on a Sunday for a major championship before but we are all waiting on it to happen. The 28 year old has the talent to make it happen.
Appearances: 7
Best Finish: T-18 (2002)
Best Round: 68 (2004, 2005)

48. Jesper Parnevik: Nice finishes at the Wachovia Championship and the Byron Nelson in the last month. Parnevick will be looking for his best finish since 1998 at the U. S. Open.
Appearances: 7
Best Finish: T-14 (1998)
