Former World Number 4 Jame Blake eased his way into the 2nd round of the Masters 1000 event in Paris with a straight sets 6-4 6-3 victory over the Frenchman Fabrice Santoro.

Blake reached the finals of the Masters Cup when it was held in Shanghai back in 2006 but he has no chance of qualifying for the event to be held in London in 2 weeks time.

The American also took the tennis world by storm back in 2005 when he knocked the world number 2 Rafael Nadal out of the US Open much to the delight of his home fans.

Blake will be very satisfied with his victory over Santoro in Paris the American played the veteran from France a couple of years ago at the US Open and managed to win in 5 sets, it was Blake's 1st 5 set victory.

Blake also lost out to Andre Agassi in an epic 5 set match having been 2 sets to love up at the US Open back in 2005.

It is hard to see Blake upsetting the Betting Odds and winning the Paris Masters tournament.
