Now just so everyone knows before I get into this article, I love Danica Patrick as much as the next guy, and I watch the rather boring IRL races just to see where Danica winds up.
But, is the most successful female driver in the Indy car series receiving more hype than she can live up to? I was just as happy as every other Danica fan when she got her first win at the Twin Ring Motegi race in Japan, but some people don't even give her credit for that win.
Yes, it seems impossible that people wouldn't give someone credit for their win, but some people still do. Few people actually say that it was her talent that won her that race, instead all they say is it was just fuel mileage luck, it was rigged, and so on.

Even though she may have won the race on fuel mileage, she still won the race. But when you look at the numbers it seems as if after that first win her performance fell off, and has not been as spectacular as it had been leading up to her win.
Her numbers since her race-winning weekend have not been looking so hot. After her win she finished 19th in Kansas due to suspension problems, 22nd at Indianapolis, when she was in the well-documented wreck on pit road with Ryan Briscoe, 9th at Milwaukee, and 10th at Texas this past weekend.
After the weekend at Texas she fell from fifth in the points standings to sixth.
The question is, where are all her top fives, and the races where she is putting in a strong bid for the lead? It just seems as if people aren't paying attention to her actual performance, just paying attention to her.
We will have to see if her performance will pick up, and if she will go back to contending for races, leading laps, and hopefully winning another Indy car event.

Let's face it , Danica is in a top 4-8 car every week. You think AGR is giving her as good a ride as they give Marco?
