From a waiver wire standpoint, this figures to be a relatively quiet week.

No huge performance this weekend from a generally unowned fantasy player, but a few notable performances nonetheless, including the play of Tampa Bay quarterback Josh Freeman.

Freeman is not going to have much value to those of you in redraft leagues. Probably not in keeper leagues, either. But dynasty league owners who drafted Freeman—full disclosure: I have him in one dynasty league—enjoyed his three-touchdown performance yesterday.

Hopefully it was a sign of things to come for Freeman and the Bucs.

A few notables available off the wire this week:

Ladell Betts, RB, Redskins [70-1; 1-23]

Chris Chambers, WR, Chiefs [3-70-2]

James Jones, WR, Packers [4-103-1]

Robert Meachem, WR, Saints [5-98-1]

Brandon Pettigrew, TE, Lions [7-70-1]

Here are today's great reads:

* Tampa Bay brought back the old creamsicle look yesterday against Green Bay. To be honest, I actually prefer this uni to the Bucs' current threads. [Shutdown Corner]

* Pierre Thomas has strengthened his grip on the starting running back job in New Orleans again, which means it might be time to cut ties with Mike Bell . [Bruno Boys]

* The good and the bad from week nine of the fantasy football season. Marques Colston, Reggie Wayne, and Roddy White all had a down week for fantasy owners. [Pancake Blocks]

* Despite giving Jamaal Charles the start yesterday in Larry Johnson's absence, Kolby Smith could be an interesting speculative waiver wire pickup this week. [FanHouse]

* Five teams with generous fantasy football playoff schedules . Something to consider if making trades this week. [Pancake Blocks]

* Speaking of trades: A few tips to consider before pulling the trigger on a major fantasy football swap. [SI.com]
