Redskins Thumbs Up and Thumbs Down

thumbsupdownTHUMBS UP:

Ladell Betts: Why?  Betts proved what many of us Redskins fan have figured — Clinton Portis is no longer a factor on this team, just a waste of money and roster space.  It seems like when Portis got hurt, the Redskins offense seemingly moved the ball.  Betts had a very nice 4.7 yards per carry and 70 yards on 15 carriers.  Folks, whether you have a Clinton Portis jersey or not, which I do, Betts is the better running back on this team.  Portis is not the same guy he was last year.  He looks older and seems older, period.  Portis goes out to injury, the Redskins move the ball.  Good game for Ladell Betts, especially after taking, what I believe, is some unfair criticism from the Redskins fan base.  If you criticized Betts, maybe it is because Jim Zorn has never given Ladell Betts an opportunity to run the ball since he got here.    Betts show something that Portis has not ALL SEASON —- some burst in running.  Quite refreshing.
