MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (AP) — Reserve Kevin Jones scored 21 points to
lead No. 8 West Virginia to a 104-82 exhibition victory over
Mountain State on Sunday.

Devin Ebanks and junior college transfer Casey Mitchell added 19
points apiece. WVU opened the game on a 30-8 run and never
trailed.

The Mountaineers took advantage of sloppy ball-handling by
Mountain State, scoring 16 first-half points off turnovers.

Alvin Mitchell led the NAIA Cougars with 33 points and Nick
Aldridge added 29.

West Virginia shot 48 percent for the game. The Mountaineers had
11 players score, with four of them reaching double figures.

Mountain State outscored West Virginia in the second half, but
couldn’t overcome a 24-point first half deficit.
