CINCINNATI — Bengals receiver Chris Henry wasn’t sure whether
he’d play again this season after he broke his arm during a 17-7
victory over the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday.

Henry broke his left forearm just above the wrist when he was
tackled by cornerback Fabian Washington after a 20-yard
reception. Henry’s back hit the ground and Washington landed on
top of him. A replay showed the forearm bowing slightly.

He knew immediately that the injury was severe.

“I was about to get up and I felt my arm (hurt),” Henry said.
“Then I noticed it was broken.”

The medical staff put an inflatable cast on the arm and called
for a cart to take him for an exam. Henry said he won’t know his
status for the rest of the season until he sees a specialist on
Monday.

“I’m just going to try to stay on top of it and stay working,”
Henry said. “I’m going to try to get it better so I can get back
out there with these guys.”

Henry was a key part of the 2005 Bengals team that made the
playoffs, but fell out of favor because of five arrests. The
Bengals released him after his last arrest in 2008, but owner
Mike Brown changed his mind and decided to bring him back over
the objection of coach Marvin Lewis.

Henry was suspended by the NFL for the first four games last
season because of his off-field problems. He played in the last
12 games, catching 19 passes for 220 yards and a pair of
touchdowns. He has stayed out of trouble since his return.

He was fourth among Bengals receivers this season with 12
catches for 236 yards and two touchdowns. Henry was used mostly
on third-down plays, with Chad Ochocinco, Laveranues Coles and
Andre Caldwell getting most of the playing time.

When Brown brought Henry back, he gave him a two-year deal that
expires after this season.
