This will be the first of my many articles breaking down the NFL. I will start with the most competitive division in the NFL the NFC East. In the division are the Eagles, Giants, Cowboys and the Redskins. For the past 3 years this division has produced 3 teams in the playoffs including a super bowl winning team, the Giants. It is half way through the year and most are already jocking for position. In this article I will breakdown each team in the division giving you their record key up coming games and players to watch. At the end I will make my fearless prediction of who will win the NFC East.
ok
LETS GET STARTED
Eagles
Record: 5-2
Key wins: 40-17 over the Giants, 27-17 over Redskins
Key losses: 9-13 to the Raiders
Key Players: McNabb, D. Jackson, Westbrook, and T. Cole
The Eagles as always are in the thick of the NFC East. They are currently atop the division with a win perentage of .714. They huge thing for them is that they are 2-0 versus division rivals. The big win for them is their dismantaling of the Giants, when many thought that the Giants could win. They are currently on a 2 game win streak and are 4-1 in their last 5 games. The one game that worries me is the Oakland game. They lost 9-13 and failed to score a TD that game. Overall I feel with Westbrook healthy and the Defence playing like they have the Eagles are in a strong position in the powerful NFC East.

Cowboys
Record: 5-2
Key wins: 27-21 over Atlanta
Key losses: 10-17 vs Denver, 31-33 New York Giants
Key players: Tony Romo, Miles Austin, D.Ware,M. Barber, J. Ratliff
The Cowboys are in a good position in the division and are on a 3 game wining streak. The oustanding play of Romo and Austin is a great sign for the Cowboys, and Romo's gone 3 games with 8 TD passes and 0 INTs. That is huge for the Cowboys not turning over the football. Ware has been quiet on the defensive side, but Ratliff has not. Still not much from Witten and not enought out of Williams since he was traded for. One thing that is worring me is that with Williams being in the news lately about how he is not getting the ball, will this turn in to a TO type of thing. Overally if the Cowboys can prevent turnovers and get pressure on the opposing QB they will have an amazing shot at winning the division.
Giants
Record:5-3
Key wins: 23-17 over Redskins, 33-31 over Cowboys
Key losses: 27-48 to the Saints, 17-40 to the Eagles
Key players:B. Jacobs, E. Manning, A. Pierce, O. Umenyiora, J. Tuck
Currently the Giants are in 3 in the division. That is becasue of their recent 3 game lossing streak. They have lost to the Saints, Cardinals, Eagles in the past 3 weeks. After only allowing just 71 points in 5 games the Giants defence has just fallen apart allowing 112 in just the last 3 games. Also they have injury concerns with Eli but he is playing through the pain. The bright side is the Giants are still one game out in the division and have a 2-1 record in the division. Overall if they can start the running game that will open things up for Eli and their defence needs to regain its early season form.
Redskins
Record: 2-5
Key wins: NONE (beat rams(1 win team) and Bucs(0 wins this season))
Key losses: Where to start?? 17-23 to the Giants, 6-14 to Chiefs, 17-27 to Eagles
Key players: C. Portis, A. Haynesworth
Oh boy oh boy... the Redskins. Where do I start. The record, the coach, or the quaterback?? Well guess what the Redskins do have 2 wins versus the winless Bucs and the newly 1 win Rams. The 'skins are on a current 3 game losing streak and have only one 1 of there last 5. Also they are 0-2. Oh yea one more thing. If you havent won a game yet come play the Redskins. The Redskins have lost to 2 teams with out a win this season the Lions and the Chiefs. How do you explain this there is no way. Many might say 2 words. Jim Zorn. Yes he is at fault. Isnt it hard to belive that just 3 years ago the Redskins were a playoff team yes a playoff team. My advice try and lost as many remain games as possible and get a good draft choice.
