Hi.
I could not resist a little reference to the McMahon-Undertaker feud in the title. Anyway, to business:
The WWE has a tough balancing act to perform in the case of who do they push and who do they not push and perhaps let take the odd loss.
It's always a matter of opinion, and the truth is no one will ever be completely satisfied with what is going on.
However, at the moment there are some real injustices in the WWE that I think the vast majority can see.
I feel very strongly about this especially when it involves younger superstars. They are the ones that need to be treated with the most attention because if you bury them at the start of their career, it can be very tough to get back into it.
Here are five wrestlers that clearly are being buried in my view:
Mike Knox
Mike Knox has a unique gimmick. The idea of a monster heel who has studied the human anatomy to deliver pain is a clever one.
Most monster heels just smash people up. That idea of giving a monster heel some intelligence is a brilliant one. He is a good wrestler and is good on the stick.
Yet he is constantly being beaten and is being made to look very weak. Why? The gimmick is good, he is good, and yet he is losing to (no disrespect meant) to Rey Mysterio. Sorry, but this is a total injustice.
Evan Bourne
This makes little sense to me. Evan Bourne was making a lot of progress on ECW. He had a huge fan base there and was put in good matches and had a real showcase to show his high-flying skills.
Then they put him onto RAW and well, he has hardly won a match since. He has been turned into a glorified jobber at best.
RAW has a history of doing this: burying them when they join and then giving the wrestler a push. I hope Bourne's is soon.
David Hart Smith and TJ Wilson
Two strong wrestlers with a good background and the right family ties. Despite this they are involved in a rather aimless and boring feud with Cryme Tyme.
The feud has no direction at all and more often than not the Hart Dynasty end up losing. They should be being pushed as serious unified tag team titles contenders.
Instead they aren't even in the picture, and they don't look like they are getting themselves into the picture any time soon.
Paul Burchill
Simple: when did you last see him involved in anything meaningful on TV? The answer is its a long time ago and you could justify an argument saying he hasn't ever. I genuinely had to look it up to check whether he was still on the roster.
He had a dark match before the Bragging Rights PPV for the ECW title and unsurprisingly, he lost. He is actually a good wrestler he makes the odd mistake in the ring and isn't the greatest on the mic but surely no one deserves the level of burial he is getting.
That's my five. You can make cases for other guys not being used appropriately for example Shelton Benjamin, R-Truth (despite his win against Punk) and Punk himself. He has gone from title contender to feuding with a referee. Umm...why?
I hope you enjoyed reading.
