World Number 1 Roger Federer survived a scare in the 1st set before storming back to beat his compatriot Marco Chiudinelli and seal his place in the final of the ATP 500 event in Basel much to the delight of his home crowd and tennis fans around the world.

The World Number 1 had to save a set point before winning the 1st set on a tiebreaker, he then got an early break and then raced through the 2nd set 6-3. In the final Federer will meet the World Number 3 Novak Djokovic of Serbia, Djokovic edged past Radek Stepanek 6-7 7-5 6-2.

Djokovic and Federer have met 4 times this year, Djokovic came out on top in the Semi Finals of the Miami and Rome Masters 1000 events but Federer won the 2 more recent meetings in the final of Cincinnati and the Us Open Semi Final.

Both Federer and Djokovic will compete in the Masters Cup at the O2 Arena in London in 2 weeks time.

It is hard to see Djokovic upsetting the Betting Odds and winning the title tomorrow.
