Ole Miss: Under Rated and Overlooked

I was labeled an Ole Miss hater early this year. When Pre Season polls came out and had the Rebs ranked higher than the talent on the team could ever achieve I wrote just that. Expectations were way too high for this team for the country and fan base. These expectations were unrealistic and unachievable.

Now the opposite has happened. Disappointed media and fans have thrown the Ole Miss Rebels under the bus and wrote them off. This is just as ridiculous as having this teame ranked at number 5. Ole Miss is a good Top 25 team.  Throwing them under the bus is as unwise as it is unwarranted.

With a stronger Offensive and Defensive line this team could be a top five team. I knew they would have problems with Auburn and South Carolina. Everyone figured Alabama was the slug out to watch. The reason these games were problems was easy for the trained eye to see. Auburn and South Carolina took advantage of a less than Stellar Offensive Line to put pressure on the hot headed Jevan Snead. Jevan Snead is a wonderful talent with a huge flaw. He can not and will not control his emotions and they control him utterly. 

Alabama was a case of the compact car hitting a truck. They are simply stronger on both lines than Ole Miss. As I predicted early this year, this was to be expected. So is the future of this team. Ole Miss is a dangerous team that has the ability and talent to win all of the remaining games on the schedule. Ole Miss can lite up Tennessee if the O Line plays up to potential. It could well be a game that gets ugly for the Vols if they are not careful. LSU is a beatable team. They do not rush the passer well and Snead under control is a beautiful player to watch. The Mississippi State game is a toss up that will be decided on emotion and what team wants it more. This is the nature of many rivalry games.

I say to Ole Miss fans, keep up the faith and the heads. The season is not a lost cause and good things are coming!!
