World Number 8 Fernando Verdasco sealed his place in the Semi Finals of the ATP 500 event in Valencia with a straight sets victory over his compatriot Tommy Robredo.
Verdasco won a tight 1st st 6-3 to take a one set to love lead the 2nd set was even more one sided as Verdasco eased through it 6-2 to claim an easy 6-3 6-3 victory.
Earlier this year Verdasco stunned the tennis world earlier this year when he reached the Semi Finals of the Australian Open on the way to the last 4 he beat Andy Murray and Jo Wilfred Tsonga.
Ironically Murray will be Verdasco's opponent in the Semi Finals today. As Verdasco is ranked 8th in the world he is currently on course to qualify for the ATP Masters Cup in the O2 Arena in London.
Verdasco will be very encouraged with his performance against Robredo and he will be confident that he can produce a similar display against Murray today.
