NEW YORK — Thanks to Alex Rodriguez and the Yankees, Madison
Square Garden finally had some champions on the court again.

Seven of the World Series winners continued their day of
celebrating Friday by coming onto the floor after the first
quarter of the Knicks’ game against the Cleveland Cavaliers.

With Yankees fan LeBron James standing and clapping from the
sideline, Rodriguez, CC Sabathia, Mark Teixeira, Robinson Cano,
Melky Cabrera, Joba Chamberlain and Freddy Guzman received a
standing ovation while Frank Sinatra’s “New York, New York”
blared over the arena’s speakers.

Former Yankee Bernie Williams, who has been nominated for a
Latin Grammy, played the national anthem on his guitar before
the game.

Earlier Friday, the Yankees had a parade through Lower
Manhattan.
