New York Giants: Goodbye, Michael Strahan! Hello, Jason Taylor?

Jeff WardContributor IJune 9, 2008

I'm sure many Giants fans have thought about this day for many months, if not years.

We've lost the face of our franchise.

There is no doubt Strahan should be a Hall of Famer, but the defending champs have to keep on moving.  Although there is no replacing a player the caliber of Michael Strahan, the most obvious move now would be to trade Shockey for Jason Taylor.

I love Shockey, but if he is so accepting of a trade, I say let him go.  Taylor would be a vital piece to the G-Men stopping the Cowboys' likely Super Bowl run, and Shockey can head back to where he played his college ball.

It seems every year the Big Blue Wrecking Crew has been destroyed by injuries, and so has Shockey.  No disrespect to Justin Tuck, but this is almost a dream trade.  It'll be exciting to see how this all plays out through the offseason.

Let's Go Big Blue! MOUNT UP!
