Over the past several years, Florida Gator linebacker Brandon Spikes has shown his friendliness and hospitality to his fellow teammates, coaches, fans, and opposing players time and again, both on the field and off.
Without a doubt, Spikes is the friendliest, nicest, most huggable player in college football today, and the following slides will prove that beyond a shadow of a doubt.
Don't let his menacing appearance fool you; Brandon is just a big squishy bear inside, longing to hug someone.
Florida big men not afraid to express their emotions
Sure, they are fast, strong, big, and tackle opposing quarterbacks every weekend, but these guys are never afraid to show their love for one another.
Here team leader Brandon Spikes gives a much-needed hug to hardworking Florida defensive end Stephen Cunningham.
Sharing the love
Brandon, ever thoughtful of his teammates, makes sure that he spreads the love and includes defensive end Carlos Dunlap in a celebratory hug as well lest he feel left out.
Opposing teams fear this triangle of death formed by Spikes, Cunningham, and Dunlap, but to these Gators it's more like a triangle of friendship in which they crush anyone entering through it with tough love.
Best hug ever
Possibly the greatest hug Brandon Spikes has ever given was to Georgia running back Knowshon Moreno in 2008. This was known as the "Hug Heard Around the World." In the history of hugs, this ranks right up there.
If he could hug the fans, he would
I'm certain that if Brandon Spikes could hug all 90,000-plus Florida Gator fans in the stadium on gameday at once, he would. Instead, he has to settle for pumping up the crowd like a conductor of a great orchestra.
Bulldogs don't like hugs
Occasionally, Brandon's emotions get the best of him. Here Georgia quarterback Joe Cox is desperately trying to avoid a big bear hug from Spikes. Man, that QB is quick for a little guy!
Always trying to be first
Perhaps one of Brandon Spikes' most selfish traits is always trying to be the first one to welcome opposing ball carriers.
However, here Brandon lets another teammate give the first hug, showing his unselfishness and ability to put the team first.
Being a little too friendly
It seems that Bulldogs really don't like hugs from Brandon Spikes. Who can blame them after the the love he showed to Knowshon Moreno last year?
Still, Brandon crossed the line after trying to say hi a little too closely to RB Washuan Ealey.
Group hug
Sometimes there is nothing better than a big group hug. In this image Brandon and the rest of the Florida Gator defense show much love to Alabama running back Mark Ingram.
Love the coaches
Here Brandon shows his love to coach Urban Meyer after a big win. Can't you just feel the friendship between this unlikely couple?
For the love of football
Perhaps his greatest love of all is his love of the game of football. Here, Brandon kisses the BCS crystal trophy.
It's a long, long road to get to this moment, but Brandon has done it before and knows what it takes to get there again.
