Indianapolis Colts superstar strong safety Bob Sanders will need season ending surgery to repair a biceps tendon tear.

Sanders has played in only 2 games this season recording a few tackles and one interception.

The oft injured Sanders has only played in 47 regular season games in his six season career.

His backup Melvin Bullitt has played every game this season and 26 tackles and one forced fumble.  Bullitt is an adequate backup but he will not be able to replace the impact of the injured 2007 Defensive Player of the Year, Sanders.
