British Number 1 Andy Murray eased into the Semi Finals of the ATP 500 event in Valencia with a straight sets win over Spain's Albert Montanes.

Murray went a break up in the 1st set but Montanes hit back immediately however Montanes was broken again as Murray eased through the 1st set 6-4.

Murray then cruised through the 2nd set 6-2 to seal a 6-4 6-2 victory and seal his place in the Semi Finals.

The World Number 4 took the tennis world last year when he reached the final of the US Open. However on that occasion the Scot came up short against the World number 1 Roger Federer losing 6-2 7-5 6-2.

Murray also reached the Semi Finals of the Wimbledon Championships but lost out to Andy Roddick 6-4 4-6 7-6 7-6.

Roddick then gave Federer an extremely tough match in the final before losing 16-14 in the 5th set.

It would take a brave person to Bet against Roddick winning Wimbledon before his career is over.
