Futbol Factor: The FA Cup Should Scrap The Replay Match

The FA Cup is better off adapting the golden goal rule as opposed to forcing teams to play one-too-many matches.

It would make the matches more exciting and, at the same time, convince the clubs that there is something worth sacrificing a player for.

Often, managers complain that their clubs are forced to replay games at an inconvenient time.

The football season is a long and demanding campaign. Forcing clubs into replay matches at discomforting times takes away from the pedigree of this historic competition.

It would be wise on the part of the Football Association of England to adopt this proposed golden goal rule and at least acknowledge the fact that players and clubs have a toll.
