Gordan Strachan can lead Middlesbrough to success...if he plays his marbles right, and if the club can suddenly form themselves into competitors once they play in the Premiership.

The club will need all the luck it can muster, and though questions were raised about Garret Southgates' sudden firing, Gordan Strachan is the kind of managerial talent that the club should go after in the first place.

Gordan has experience with Celtic, where he coached the club in both the Scottish Premier League and European Champions League.

So, it's not like he hasn't accustomed himself with that pedigree. He has, and Boro supporters should at least be hopeful of their club's chances.

It's a long season in the Championship, but if things go well with Gordan, and if the club can make a successful return to the Premiership this spring, than Boro supporters would have reason for optimism.
