Lack Of Starters Effort, Gives The Suns Their First Loss

The Suns started off 4-0 on the season for only the third time in franchise history. That changed on Wednesday when the Suns traveled to Orlando to tip-off against the Magic. The Suns tried to keep it close in the first half, hoping that Vince Carter not playing, with a sore ankle, would be enough. Suns kept it close, at the half it was 58-52, Magic having a slight lead. The second half is where the Suns ran out of gas, and the Magic took advantage. Ryan Anderson had a big night for the Magic with 20 points, and 10 rebounds, Anderson also shot 3-3 from three-point range. But of course you can't think about the Magic without mentioning their star center Dwight Howard, who had 25 points, and 6 rebounds. It wasn't a losing effort for the Suns, even though they only shot 45.5% from the field. Amar'e Stoudemire had his second double-double on the season with 25 points, and 10 rebounds. Steve Nash wasn't his usual self, dishing the ball to his teammates with only 4 assists, and 12 points. But Nash wasn't the only one not acting himself, Grant Hill was 0-5 from the field with 0 points, playing 18 and a half minutes. With the lack of points from the starters, the Suns bench stepped it up with a whopping 58 points off the bench, while the Magic only had 39 points from their bench warmers. The final score was 122-100, Magic getting the win and matching the Suns record at 4-1 on the season. Suns tip off at Boston on Friday.
