Again, Russell had a good and bad day. After the first interception and the SD touchdown, i thought "Man this game is gonna be a blowout" so i kept watching and was surprised. The Raiders tied the game at 7, EARLY in the game. Then i started noticing the flaws that led to a another Raider loss.
- Offensive line did a poor job of keeping Russell safe throughout the game. (Russell didn't just stand there and take the sack like he usually does, he actually tried to run away from it, and when he was hit and if you payed attention, when he was hit, HE ACTUALLY TUCKED THE BALL IN TO AVOID A FUMBLE)
- Receivers, GET OPEN ! (I truly think Russell dislikes his receivers since he never seems to throw the ball to them anymore. He actually prefers, and finds much more success with his Running backs, Fullbacks & Tight Ends. The only receivers he seems to like and trust are Schilens & Higgins.)
- Defense looked clueless out there. They were very inconsistent. (Especially against the pass, where most of the chargers key plays came in.)
Now, the only good things i have to say about the loss:
- They rushed great.
- Great play calling. I had no problem with the playcalling, the players just needed to execute.
- Russell i guess your benching did motivate you this sunday, not as much as we hoped but none the less, you looked far greater than at the Jets game.
