In light of the NHL Awards Ceremony being this Thursday, we here in the NHL Community came up with an original idea.

Now everyone seems to be posting their predictions on who will win and what will happen with the winners, but thanks to a little back-and-forth with Miah Drew, we want to try something here on Bleacher Report.

We want to hold a vote for our own NHL awards.

So below you'll find the list of each award and a list of its nominees. Read through the list, and then in the comments section, post who you think will win. Friday morning we'll post the results from the awards show and compare them with what you thought here on Bleacher Report!

Hart Memorial Trophy

Alexander Ovechkin (Washington Capitals)

Jarome Iginla (Calgary Flames)

Evgeni Malkin (Pittsburgh Penguins)

Calder Trophy

Patrick Kane (Chicago Blackhawks)

Jonathon Toews (Chicago Blackhawks)

Nicklas Backstrom (Washington Capitals)

James Norris Trophy

Nicklas Lidstrom (Detroit Red Wings)

Zdeno Chara (Boston Bruins)

Dion Phaneuf (Calgary Flames)

Vezina Trophy

Martin Brodeur (New Jersey Devils)

Evgeni Nabokov (San Jose Sharks)

Henrik Lundqvist (New York Rangers)

Jack Adams Trophy

Guy Carbonneau (Montreal Canadiens)

Mike Babcock (Detroit Red Wings)

Bruce Boudreau (Washington Capitals)

Frank J. Selke Trophy

Pavel Datsyuk (Detroit Red Wings)

Henrik Zetterberg (Detroit Red Wings)

John Madden (New Jersey Devils)

Lady Byng Trophy

Pavel Datsyuk (Detroit Red Wings)

Jason Pominville (Buffalo Sabres)

Martin St. Louis (Tampa Bay Lightning)

Remember, you don't need to list reasons (you can if you want), but you just need to list the winners. We'll then tabulate the votes and compare it to Thursday's results to see how accurate the hockey minds on Bleacher Report were!

Happy Voting!

    Nicklas Lidstrom (Detroit Red Wings)

    Vezina Trophy

  3. Hart to Ovy! I mean, I already have my T-Shirt :D ;)

  4. Nice, adam lol

    Hart: Ovie

    Calder: Kane

    Norris: Lidstrom

    Vezina: Brodeur

    Adams: Carbonneau

    Selke: Zetterberg

    Byng: Datsyuk

    Masterton: Blake

    Pearson: Ovie

  5. Hart: Ovechkin
Calder: Nick Backstrom, the Capital not the Minn. goaltender
    Norris: Lidstrom
    Vezina: Lundqvist
Jack Adams: Carbonneau; Habs were far less skilled than Detroit; placed way better than Caps
    Selke: Zetterberg
Byng: St. Louis; Datsyuk lays too many hits to be this winner!

  6. HART: Oh, thIS is definitely going to Ovechkin. What's more, I think it should--he is able to score even though teams really only need to concentrate on his line, and he plays tough, physical defense.

CALDER: Patrick Kane will get it, but his teammate Jonathan Toews should. His play was more consistent, he has a better +/-, and more goals, and goals are harder to get than assists. If he hadn't missed 18 games, he would have been only a couple points short.

NORRIS: C'mon, we all know this is going to Lidstrom. They should rename it after him.

VEZINA: Nabokov SHOULD win this, but voters are people with biases, and Brodeur is more established.
ADAMS: Boudreau should and will win this--he took over the 29th best team and got them within one goal of the second round. (I know, playoffs aren't factored in, but they should be!) Carbonneau will be a close second.

SELKIE: This is tough, but I'm going with Datsyuk over Zetterberg because of the better +/- and more games. However, it should go to Brenden Morrow, who has a checking line mentality and a scorer's ability. Those Wings are great defenders, but they don't have the physical side.

BYNG: The most useless trophy (c'mon, hockey is supposed to be a physical sport, and penalties are a natural consequence of that) in sports goes to Datsyuk. It should go to Pominville since he accomplished his numbers on a non-playoff team (both had only 20 PIM in a full 82 games), but Pavel will get the respect. Plus, he does play more D than Jason, ergo those demands compensate for the team support that makes his "sportsmanship" easier.

    1. SUCK IT EVERYONE--SEVEN FOR SEVEN!!! That would make me the only perfect score--since I already won a T for my wife, I'll take an XL for me--what better advertising than to have the most sound prognosticator on the site and his wife decked out in your gear!

(Yeah, God's gonna take me down a peg for that arrogance!)

  7. Hart: Ovechkin

    Calder: Kane (should be Price)

    Norris: Lidstrom

    Vezina: Nabokov

    Adams: Carbonneau

    Selke: Zetterberg

    Byng: Pominville

  8. hart: vech

    calder: Kane

    Norris: Lidstrom

    Vezina: Nabokov

    Adams: Babcock

    Selke: Datsyuk

    Bying: Datsyuk

  9. hart: ovechkin
    calder: kane
    norris: lidstrom
    vezina: brodeur
    adams: carbonneau
    selke: zetterberg
    bying: pominville
