British Number 1 Andy Murray will return to the tour for the ATP 500 event in Valencia. Murray will be using the tournament as preparation for the Masters Cup in London at the end of the month.

Murray last played on the tour at the US Open where he was beaten in straight sets by the talented young Croat Marin Cilic 7-5 6-2 6-2.

Murray has been one of the most consistent tennis players in the world he won the ATP Masters 1000 Event in Miami this year, he has also won the Montreal Masters tournament.

Many believed that Murray had a great chance to win the 1st Grand Slam title of his career at Wimbledon this year, following the withdrawal of the defending champion Rafael Nadal.

While Murray performed very well at Wimbledon and appeared to be in superb form he came up short in the Semi Finals against a resurgent Andy Roddick the American won 6-4 4-6 7-6 7-6 to book his place in his 3rd Wimbledon Final.

It is hard to see Murray upsetting the Betting Odds and winning the Masters Cup.
