While in a heated discussion about Michael Vick and if he'd ever start again me and my brother stumbled onto an interesting topic about where would there be a QB vacancy next year.
Yes there will be a few coaches and owners who will be telling the starting QB's or QB tandems' "You don't have to go home but you have to get out of here!" Some QB's to pack it in and tearfully retire, some who go elsewhere into free agency and some who leave the league to pursue other careers.
Kerry Collins
Here is a player who has battled in the NFL for years not quite a bust but not quite what they had in mind when they drafted him. Next year he'll tearfully retire.
Vince Young
Tremendously talented Youngs battled mostly mental lapses and a lack of a real NFL style game. Next year unless he rips it up for Tennessee, in these last few meaningless games, the experiment will mercifully be over and he will be asked to leave. Vince with his talent will find a job as a back-up somewhere.
Derek Anderson
Having stunk in up with the Browns keeping his job with the sole purpose of keep Brady Quinn from getting paid. This one year wonder will be bagging groceries in Alaska next year.
Brady Quinn
The Browns don't want to pay Brady Quinn millions to lose games they can do that just fine for less. Brady has too much talent for someone else not to give him a chance we'll see him again.
Duante Culpepper
Might keep his job as a back-up if his ego doesn't get in the way but his years as a starter are clearly behind him.
Kurt Warner
Similarly to what happened with the Rams and Giants, Matt Leinhart has too much talent to keep on the bench and Kurt Warner will be offered a plane ticket out of town, but he'll retire rather than try to start over and win a job put another forgotten franchise on the map then get fired for a hot young QB to take over.
Jake Dellhome
Dellhome hasn't been the same ever since that fateful playoff game. He'll do the right thing at the end of the season and retire.
Jamarcus Russell
Al Davis will finally say enough is enough and pull the plug on this much maligned QB. He'll resurface a few years from now somewhere else as a pretty good QB.
Jason Campbell
Jason Campbell was an ill fit in the West Coast offense with angry fans ready to have his head Free agency can't come at a better time for this young QB. He's established a reputation for himself and will sign with another team and live to fight another day.
Brett Favre
The Gunslinger, The Grey beard, Purple Judas with an arm no body did it better the Brett. This will be the last campaign for The Great One and Mister indecisive will decide to hang up his cleats for good.
Brett Favre
Then Brett Favre come back for one last hurrah.
