Two weeks removed from the Cowboys bye week, I don’t think in recent memory have I ever saw a team benefit more from that bye week more then the 2009-2010 Dallas Cowboys.

During the week of the bye, the Cowboys saw the Eagles be embarrassed in Oakland, that could cost them the division. It also became evident the Giant defense has some problems, and saw a Washington Redskins lay down for the season.

Rewind to week 7 when the Cowboys had a game against Atlanta that on paper they should beat if, they were to be thought of as a team in contention. The Cowboys did show they could beat a team with talent, and many weapons and Matt Ryan.

Sunday week 8, a trap game against Seattle. A game that of course they should win. But Dallas usually plays down to their compaction. IE: Kansas City. Also thinking the Dallas Cowboys should beat the Broncos, in week 4, and that ended up as a trap game that could have cost them the division if not a playoff spot. But that bye week help with the rest of the teams in the NFC East losing.

With Romo not throwing any interceptions in the last two weeks, and winning the games they should win, have set them selves up for a showdown in Phili against the Eagles that will have a major effect on the division standing in the NFC East.

The Giants are not playing as well as expected after a 5-0 start, dropping the last three games in a row, make the NFC East all too intriguing for the possibilities that can happen. But looking at the Giants, it seems like something is not right. My guess is the new Defensive Coordinator Bill Sheridan is not getting to the players as well as Steve Spagnuolo did last season, before he moved on to be the head coach in St Louis.

All eyes are going to be on Dallas in New York for the game on December 6th. It will help define the NFC East. Also imagine if the Giants can somehow put it together. It will be a run for the NFC East Title, and one team left out cold, not making the payoffs. It will come down to December.

The Cowboys traditionally in December manage to stub their toes, and spoil their season because of losses in the month of December. They need all four games in December including Washington who will be playing the role of spoiler for the rest of the season.

Have the Cowboys turned the corner? We will find out this weekend. They are doing things right in the past two weeks but the Phili “D” will be ready for the Cowboys. Regardless of the week, the Eagles “D” HANDLED the Giants offence this past week. The Cowboy need to keep Newman from getting burned, and keep their defense in the face of McNabb who gets happy feet under real heat from defenses (in my opinion). The Cowboys better bring that that real heat or they will get beat in Phili.

Ohh yea, and Romo better keep that love affair he has going on with Miles Austin. That connection will be vital for the Cowboys to get a win in Phili. Look for Austin to be a major role in the offence this week, and maybe Witten will be a part of the game plan as well a change of pace.
