Talk about the pot calling the kettle black.

Remember back in August when Florida LB Brandon Spikes accused the Sooners of playing dirty in the BCS title game?

Here were his exact words : "Compared to Oklahoma, you won't find anyone (as dirty)."

Well guess what?

We just did.

CBS cameras clearly caught Spikes trying to gouge the eyes of Georgia running back Washaun Ealey during last week's 41-17 win over the rival Bulldogs.

Coach Urban Meyer suspended the star linebacker on Monday, adding that Spikes was retaliating after he had his helmet ripped off and was poked in the eye earlier in the game.

"I don't condone that," Meyer said of his alleged captain's actions. "I understand what goes on on the football field, but there's no place for that."

The SEC also reviewed Spikes actions and accepted the discipline handed down by the defending national champions.

Thirty minutes of detention against the Commodores, who are 0-5 in conference play, seems inadequate.

Spikes is lucky to avoid an eye-for-an-eye .

Real classy, Brandon.  Who's dirty now?
