Dirty Play or Usual Antics?

I want to examine this year in college football in terms of dirty play. In light of this weekend's UGA vs. UF death-battle, and Brandon Spike's much publicized three stooges impersonation; Let's look at two controversial incidents from this year.
The first incident is the LeGarrette Blount punch after the Boise State game. The second incident is the Brandon Spikes eye gouge during this year's Cocktail Party.
LeGarrette Blount Sucker Punch
What LeGarrette Blount did was inexcusable. He purposely tried to injure an opposing player on national TV.
What the receiver of this brutal punch did to provoke this was irrelevant...or was it?
Football is a game of deep emotion and a game which conjures up competitiveness in the most docile players. Blount may very well be reinstated today but he was (is) suspended for the remainder of his career at Oregon.
Brandon Spikes Eye Gouge
Was what Brandon Spikes did any different than what LeGarrett Blount did? I have heard the argument that UGA players were ripping off helmets, putting late hit after late hit on Tim Tebow, and purposely providing personal foul after personal foul.
Quite frankly, it doesn't matter.
It didn't matter when LeGarrett Blount punched Byron Hout after being taunted. I don't care what UGA players were doing. Further, I have heard that "it happens all the time on the bottom of piles." Okay, I'll give you that much, but it's still dirty, and when caught, you should be adequately punished.
Punishment—Oregon Style
My hat's off to you Chip Kelly.
Kelly suspended LeGarrett Blount for the remainder of his college career after he punched Byron Hout. Chip Kelly certainly made the punishment fit the crime. Blount may be reinstated today, but I'd say he certainly was punished adequately at the time.
Punishment - Florida Style
Urban Meyer, I am not even looking for my hat to tip to you with on this one.
Seriously, you suspend Brandon Spikes for one half? And it's against Vandy?
At least suspend him for the entire game. It's not like you won't smoke Vandy with or without Spikes.
I'd say that you could attend anger management class with Brandon on game day, miss the game, not coach, sit Tim Tebow, play with all your players in tutu's and still smoke Vandy.
This punishment wouldn't even fit the crime of not wearing orange and blue on game day morning before the game. I have seen kids punished worse in the aisles of Wal-Mart.
Conclusion
Chip Kelly, you made a great decision, and your punishment of LeGarrette Blount certainly fit the crime. Urban Meyer, your star MLB could have intentionally blinded a true freshman RB and you essentially told him that you think it's OK, but because the media didn't you are going to give him a token "punishment" by sitting him for half of a football game against the WORST team in the SEC. I am disappointed, and I really hope that the SEC gives him at least a couple of games suspension in addition to what he already received from the coach.
