World Number 1 Serena Williams has ended 2009 on a high after she defeated her sister Venus to win the WTA season ending championships in Doha.

Serena raced through the 1st set winning it 6-2 and appeared to be on course to win the title. the 2nd set was a far more close affair and Venus forced it to a tiebreaker, but Serena still came out on top as she secured a 6-2 7-6 victory to claim the title.

Earlier this year, Serena took the tennis world by storm when she won Wimbledon for the 3rd time in her career.

On that occasion Serena also beat Venus and the score was 7-6 6-2. Serena also won the Australian Open back in January this year when she defeated Dinara Safina in the final.

Serena failed to defend her US Open title however as she bowed out to a resurgent Kim Clijsters in the Semi Final in controversial fashion.

If you are a Betting person then you would do well to back Serena to defend her Wimbledon title next year.
