After being sidelined by injury at the back end of 2006 World Number 2 Rafael Nadal made his comeback at the ATP event in Dubai The Spaniard cruised through to the final, to set up a dream final against Roger Federer much to the delight of tennis fans around the world.
Federer cruised through the 1st set winning it 6-2 and seemed on course to win the title in Dubai.
Nadal to his credit dug deep and won the 2nd set 6-4 to set up a deciding set. Nadal carried his momentum into the 3rd set and he won it 6-4 to claim a sensational 2-6 6-4 6-4 victory.
The duo went on to meet in the French Open and Wimbledon final that year, Nadal beat Federer in the French Open in 4 sets, while Federer reversed the result at SW19.
The Spaniard also came out on top of Federer in the final of the Masters Series events in Monte Carlo and Rome. It is hard to see Nadal upsetting the Betting Odds and winning the Masters Cup in London later this month.
