I have recently written an article concerning the AFC West. In that article I predicted one of the toughest divisions in the NFL.
In this article, I will discuss how the Raiders acquired talent could be over-hyped, overrated, and banged up. Let me re-phrase myself to the people who think I am bashing the Raiders.
The Raiders have added a plethora of talent, from Javon Walker to DeAngelo Hall. They have picked up many quality players in the draft. The most obvious being Darren McFadden. So, why do people think I am bashing the Raiders ?
All I was saying is that the Raiders may have acquired all this talent, but if it all goes wrong like some expect, the Raiders organization will be haunted, humiliated, and would have to deal with a huge whole in their pocket.
The Raiders have dished out a lot of cash to acquire the talent. To re-state myself from my recent article titled "AFC West: Who will come out on top ?", I will say that I believe that the Raiders have done enough to turn the franchise around. It just will not happen in one year.
Bill Belichick did not do it with the Patriots, and Lane Kiffin will not do it so quickly either. I will say this though; they will have an immediate improvement, if all goes well that is. I believe that the Raiders can handle all of the talent. The real question is can the talent handle the Raiders?
You see guys like Javon Walker, who is coming off knee surgery, and he raises eyebrows in a bad way because he has been bruised up since his time with the Packers and has yet to play a complete season since his second year with Green Bay. I do not think that making Javon Walker one of the highest paid WRs is smart.
I love the addition of DeAngelo Hall. With Hall, the Raiders are easily in the top two for CB tandems. I also like the addition of Darren McFadden. As long as his legs don't go dead on contact whilst in the NFL, I think he will have a rookie season compared to Adrian Peterson. Also, Gibril Wilson will have a good year with the Raiders. Oakland's secondary will be dangerous in the NFL. Look for an increase in interceptions.
Another notable name the Raiders have signed is Tommy Kelly. I do not agree with the fact that Tommy Kelly got paid so much, when there are other DTs in the league who are better.
The Raiders are a much better team than last year. They just will not be playoff ready this year. You also have to keep in account that you have not seen JaMarcus Russell play to his full potential, but if he lives up to all the expectations, the Raiders will be a competitor in the AFC West. I see the Raiders finishing 8-8 this upcoming season, if all goes well with the talent.
I do not think that the Raiders will have an immediate turn around. I believe they will give teams more competition, but they will still fall short. You will have to wait until the 2009 season to see the Raiders progress.

"I see the Raiders finishing 8-8 this upcoming season IF ALL GOES WELL with the talent."
I don't think you have watched any Raider games last year. Last years Raiders could have gone 8-8 with this schedule if all goes well with last years talent.
Last year the Raiders had the choice between Cullpepper and his slow reads and interceptions or Mcnown and his limited arm plus fumbles and interceptions.
Russell will have his ups and downs. But he doesn't have the limitations the other QB's did.
Micheal Bush will be huge for the Raiders and McFadden adds a new dimension to the offense. The receivers have the ability to get behind the defense.
The secondary will be even better and deeper than before. That leaves the lines.
The offensive line will continue to get better and build an identity. But it is a concern and the reason they will not be the dominant team this year.
Also the Defensive line needs a strong Nose Tackle and some more depth. Some blitzing would help.
The Raiders beat KC and Denver once last year and could have swept. San Diego is strong but the Raiders could beat them if all goes well with our new talent.
The point is I think you are wrong.
If all goes well with the Raiders new talent then who knows what they could do. Probably not you with your hater mentality.

I agree Pete but I do feel we could have won 9 last year. That's why I see us doing at least that this year especially because of the schedule plus a steady QB every game. So 9 to me will be the expected and anything else gravy... I do what to put a hurt on the Chokers this year up in Oakland. And Dmac to pull a hat trick on them just to show them...
You had your shot... The usurper LdT is getting old and now is snake bitten so he'll NEVER B what he was... GREAT BACK that he was he'll B in the Hall of Fame but... No RING,
You could have... but you didn't have... so the QB who chose not to be a Choker showed he was a GIANT by beating the unbeatable... Enjoy what you had (though without a ring it can't that great) your time like the PATTY's is OVER.
So That's my point Dude... sorry hehehe I got a little carried away!!!

Mike49er: He doesn't?? What games were you watching? Not only did Russell have EXTREMELY poor reads, but also fumbled, and threw interceptions..I mean BAD interceptions, to where Lame had no choice to but state he played horribly, and unacceptable. Yes, it was his rookie outings, but you commenting Russell wasn't "limited" is way off the mark.

Micheal Bush will be huge for the Raiders and McFadden adds a new dimension to the offense. The receivers have the ability to get behind the defense.
Mike49er: The receivers? did you sign someone over the weekend? Curry had a mediocre year at best. For that matter, his ONLY good game was game one against Detroit, where he caught 10 or so. After that he waffled between 3 to 6 catches per game for most games. Curry will be getting behind very few defenders.
Javon Walker missed half the year, and the last 5 games that he played he averaged LESS than 2 catches a game. For that matter, both Walker and Curry are "tentative" for training camp.
So...unless you signed someone in the last couple of days, don't expect your WR's to be tearing it up.

Mike49er: "Concern"??? lol...just a "concern'?? Chances are your semi-rookie QB is going to be running for his life because of that 'concern". That or being rudely introduced to the turf. It's more of a pending disaster than a "concern" at this point.

Mike49er: Your D line is worse than last year. Your O line is worse than last year. You've drafted positions you didn't need, while ignoring pressing needs..and you signed hobbled, recently operated on, players who no one knows if they'll be ready, much less be playing at full strength. You have a rookie qb, and to make matters worse, you jettisoned both starting qb's from last year, meaning if your starting rookie struggles...there IS NO ONE...if he gets hurt? lol....yep...you're putting in either Tui or Walter.
The author of this thread was quite generous, actually, in stating you could go 8-8 if all goes well.
I'll state if all goes well, you'll win one more game than last year..and that's a BIG if.

Somebody once said that those who live in glass houses should not cast stones...
Why don't you go back to making sure that the crotch of Mike "tough talk" Nolan's game day suit is not too tight...
The niners will be lucky to match their win total from last season in the worst division in football. Go write about that. That says alot as well because if the Cardinal DB kicks the ball out of the back of the end zone in the first game, you lose...and if Rackers makes the OT chip shot in the second game, you also lose.
Nolan has been an under-achiever, Smith has been a BUST, and nothing has changed around Ninerland to right the ship...Dr. York is fat and happy watching the flag boys run across the field the field with the rest of the ole faithful.
Are you one of the male cheerleader's that holds a 49er flag? Are the 49er's the only team in the NFL that has/enjoys their male cheerleaders?

Mike I know you think alexandra is going to be a much improved QB right?
JR is a rookie with a very good run game and walker is talented is healthy he had surgery last year 5 games in so he's on schedule for his rehab. The fact is Walker is better then any WR on the whinners including 90 year old Isack from the love boat can I pour Mark Martz a drink for hirering me!
So he has weapons to hand off to and throw to the game he started is probably a good assestment of his developement as of last year. The whole off season of studying and preparing to lead this year and yeah he will have a lot less limitation from any standpoint. But we are what 54 days til Canton! My tickets are paid for and will be here in the summer and the 1st game is at the net on my birthday against the nolan lead team of destiny (destine to win no more then 5 games 2 in div and 3 out.
So thanks for you insight on the board again!

As posted above Walker would be better then anyone on the 9ers and is comming off an injury from last year not the end of the year games in. He will be ready to go and all you have to do is buy a ticket for the monday night game to watch how ready he will be against Denver! Carter has been building a lot of chemistry with JR in the off season which by all accounts showed over the last week. Curry had a minor foot surgury and plays better comming off injuries in the past. He was also asked to be the number 1 last year and is more suited to a 2 so those are the first 3 after that there is a lot of youth with size spped and verticle leaps which will be nice to develope over trainning camps!

Anyway you slice it they can run the ball and that they did with 8 sometimes 9 in the box so they can run block and even with Harris if he ends up as the starter they will be able to run the ball and set up play action for the big kid with the big arm Draft #1 overall and worth it unlike alexandra who you couldn't trade for spit I wouldn't give you Lamont jordan for that scard little boy!

The dline and olines are not worse then last year and we didn't rank dead last in offense while giving up 36 fumbles and 55 sacks so what in gods green earth makes you think you can even tell what a good d line or oline consist of you deffinatly don't have either in SF and that explains why you spend all your time searching out every Raider story to comment on and try to make you feel better about the laughingstocks that are the 49ers! By the way Pete Caroll said he's still not interested in coaching next the 9ers year when yorky lowers the bomb on nolan for not putting out(Wins).

This is the biggest joke and I wish you well with your future telling busness Nostradumba$$!
Anyway I think it's safe to say the Raiders will win more games then the 9ers who used all their luck up last year on their first 2 games!
I was beeing generous with wins for the Whinners and you comeback and try to say we will win 5 not very original but hell you're a 9er fan you're so desprate to see talent you go over and see raider boards to talk about our team!
BTW (ers vs Raiders) this is my bday are you going to the gameto root on the 9ers and be one on the faithful?

How does one "know" that the Raider's offensive and defensive lines are worse than last year? Perhaps the NFL should simply ask Mike49er who the Super Bowl Champion is for 2009. I'm putting my money on the 49ers in that case! Hey Mike, who's winning the election in November?

Brendon Tate, you'd be much more believable if you could spell and punctuate at least at the 8th grade level. It's hard to take you serious when you can't handle basic english. I think this column would fall under another one today titled, 'Proof the media is really bored'.

guys please, this is the internet. It is what it is. and pointing out bad grammer, spelling punctuation and the likes is and has always been a deflectionary tactic used whe your points ar weak.
NOW, I know you guys are some of the most knowledgeable bloggers out there so don't take this personal.
I would suggest that no matter what a persons degrees of educational backgroud is we all have something to say!
Chopping another (especially a fellow Raider Fan) because he maybe writes (your) instead of (you're)? THAT, my friends is not productive and it would seem to show that you're bluffing for time.
You really don't know who you're talking to and having a higher education is great but certainly isn't an end all...
Many if not the vast majority of heads & CEO's of some of the most powerful companies in the world have no more than a "C" average...
That is a FACT!. do I need to remind you of our current experience with politicizations in our recent times??? Hummmm???
I'd be carful myself... Frankly, one of these people who some like to chastise on a regular basis might just be the guy who signs YOUR CHECK...
Either now or in the future so even if he says he is signing YOU'RE CHECK! You, nonetheless, will still go ahead and cash it now... won't you?
We can disagree and even have a difficult time readying eachother ( I hAte TRiIn tO rEAd My NieCEs WriGhtINgS ) but I do it non the same, and she's a straight 4.0 graduate who will run rings around most of you. No offense there guys but... she can.
So chill the heck out and enjoy the fact that, the 49'r have "MALE CHEERLEADERS" LOL!!!

Mike49er, why in the world you feel your the expert on the Raiders is beyond me. I realize there is not much going on in SAN FRANCISCO but you better find something else to do with your time. You also probably shouldn't watch any Raider or SF football games this year because I am very confident you'll be very dissapointed.
The ONE game Russell struggled in was Jacksonville. Yes he fumbled, threw interceptions and ate turf however, despite this, he maintained his composure, continued to fight and actually ended the game with the first TD pass of his very young career. Our defense did nothing to help Russell, he came into the game with us down by atleast two td's and there is no question his back was against the wall. What you failed to mention is that the following week Russell played very well against SD in a game they had to win to get a bye in the playoffs. I believe he completed over 65% of his passes threw a couple td's and kept us in the game until the end. He did this despite the fact he only had about 70% of the playbook available to him.
As for our WR's if you kept up with the Raiders you would know that we actually did sign another WR. His name is Drew Carter and he and Russell have been hitting it off in our mini camps since day one. On top of Drew we have Johnnie Lee Higgins, last years 3rd round pick, starting to get comfortable and he too has been very productive in camp. Besides those drafted two guys and brought in a couple undrafted rookie free agents. Considering we have a very reliable TE in Zack Miller, who is coming into his second year and two rb's that have great hands I highly doubt Russell will have a hard time finding receivers. Now I realize they're not Vernon Davis and Darrel Jackson bwahhahahaa
As for our Lines. On defense Warren Sapp was getting old and was a liabilty against the run which is why HE retired. We've added Greg Spires, William Joseph, Kalimba Edwards and drafted a DE with potential. I am very confident we will be improved there. Considering we added a pro bowl CB and a safety who has lead the NFC in tackles for four years straight I'd even gaurantee it.
As for the Oline last year we brought in Tom Cable as our Oline coach and he changed our blocking scheme. FYI The results were outstanding. We went from being one of the worse rushing teams in the NFL to #6. Running the ball is something we haven't been able to do since our last SB and as most fans know it makes your Olinemans job a lot easier. On top of that the Line gave up less then half the amount of sacks we had the year before. Cable has now replaced verteran Journeyman at the end of their career's in Newberry & Simms. With younger players who were rated very high coming out of college. What you fail to see is the Raiders have Chris Morris, Paul MCQuiztan, Jake Grove and Kwame Harris coming into their 3-4 years in the NFL. These players were all rated very high coming out of college and they have all had to deal with several different coaches and scheme's. On top of them we drafted Mario Henderson last year with our third round pick and picked up John Wade a starting center for the past ten years with the Bucs. Therefore I'll have to go ahead and take Cable's side and say we have upgraded the Oline not downgraded it.
Keep hating all you want Mike, 8-8 is a worse case scenerio for this team. If half of these guys reach their potential we'll be playoff bound. As for your team be prepared for a miserable year. Mike Martz's offense and the players currently on your team are a match made in hell, 4-12 is their best case scenerio. Which is obvioulsy why you're here talking junk about my team. GO RAIDERS!!!

Why would anyone care about the viewpoint of a functional illiterate such as yourself?
"Recently i have wrote..." Ouch! Of course, "i" should be capitalized. And it is either "I wrote" or "I have written". More capitalization errors in the next sentence. Raiders, being a noun, is always capitalized as well.
Skip down a couple of paragraphs to this gem:
"a hugh whole in there pocket." Which was probably meant to be "a huge hole in their pocket."
How can anyone get upset about a clown like this? This wouldn't get a passing grade in elementary school. This is like a parody of the English language.

So anyway enjoy it or hate it it's one article and well I was board enough the read and post so it has that going for it!
I would like to know in a game by game breakdown why you feel 9-7 and the tiebrakers to be the wildcard isn't a possibility?
I have us sweeping Denver KC thats 4 and Buf, BAL, ATL, CAR, Mia, NYJ, HOU and TB and only 4 wins?
Atl, Mia, Jets, are all but won so you must have us winning only one of Buf, Bal, Car, Hou and TB I think we will win that reguardless the comming together and gelling get us at least 2 and that's in harris is still at LT!

Wow, so we got hated on by an illiterate Bronco's fan and a 49er fan all in the same article. Nice to know that they are spending the time to read and write about the Raiders. It shows that the Raiders are on their way to being a good team when fans of other teams take the time to check and see whats going on with us. Lord only knows that we could give a rats ass about there teams enough to see whats going on with them because they are both crappy teams on the decline.

Gee, there's a surprise....Mike's still running off about the Raiders, but silent and without article on his own team.
Personal shame must be deep for him.
Regarding the Raiders article, it's not surprising so many people had read this article. I think about 2-3 different sites, maybe more, link onto Raider articles, and then funnel the news here.
It attracts the fans, the deviants, and yes, even Mikes.
I'll still stick to the 10-6 prediction, simply because, with a schedule this weak, with a dual CB pattern, it would take a train wreck, like the size of 2003, for the Raiders NOT to finish above 8-8. In 2003, 5 different QBs had to be used, and I can't count all the players who were on IR that season...maybe, half the total club?
Oakland's also got the advantage, of having McFadden, both ready to work and signed. Add into that he'll be working side by side with Russell, and having multiple options, Oakland's going to be looking good.
As far as budget issues goes.....we'll see who gets junked out during Training Camp.
from 4 months ago
Hey card,
I still say 8-8 9-7 if we get it together and thats with Harris at tackle if we trade for Peters from Buf for a 2nd we are in the dance no problem and probably hosting a game at the net. Do you hear about gray and black from Texans might be brought in to add to camp numbers at qb and rt.

"read it again dumb-ass i don't see you getting over 2,000 article reads in just 5 articles, it may be bad grammer in this but that is cause i did it in like 25 min."
Great, now he thinks he's e.e. cummings. Nah, I'm pretty sure he has no idea who that is.
But he is still missing the point. I can't "read it again", because it was so illiterate I couldn't force myself to read it the first time.
Your juvenile reaction to critique is very telling.
Let me spell it out for you: if you are going to write, you have an OBLIGATION to the readers to make it readable. If you cannot do it on your own, find someone who will proofread and correct your legion of mistakes.
Getting 2,000 hits on the web took five articles? And that impresses you? Talk about easy! Do you have any sisters?
from 4 months ago
its over 3,500. must of been another typo and i don't spend my life on these sites writing articles, i have a life. Thats why i only did five so far. So grammar is nothing. I go to one of the best high schools in the U.S. So i would not be talking, people who like to complain about grammar. I write for fun and to express my opinion, not to argue with a bunch of, no-life grown people who have nothing else better to do than to write long ass paragraphs for comments. THANK YOU HAVE A NICE DAY!!!

hahahahahahaha you joined just to comment, get a life dude, or a girlfriend. Write an article first then you can talk crap.

I ask the author this: How many games did the Raiders lose while holding the lead in the 4th quarter last year? If you can answer this, you will know that 8-8 was a possibility that we let slip last year. This year however, we had better be 8-8 with an improved roster and a year of coaching continuity. As sad as it sounds, we were a better team last year than the year after the Superbowl loss. That team in 03 was going down to what we now call the cellar, but the team in 08 was moving upward toward something special. 8-8 is not a bad prediction, but it will also be the cutoff score for Kiffin's final exam, because anything less will be a failing grade in the eyes of Al Davis and the Raider fans.

High school? Have you even played football? I didn't realize just anybody can post an article on this website.
Hey Brendon, don't tell your fabulous high school how bad your "grammer" is or they might kick you out of the school.
Really, high school?

now that you have mentioned, i have played football before, smart one. I was a defensive back. Thank you for the reminder. Also when you type fast as hell, words come out messed up. Oh yeah one more thing, i made varsity.

people leave tate alone, this guy is the man and he knows his sports, i know this guy very well, if you want to leave a comment please make it apporpritate, just dont come on here to leave stupid comments, the writer is looking for positive feedback not negative
from 4 months ago
Sorry to inform you gabe, but welcome to reality 101. You'll see, there's both positive and negative feedback on articles.....the best chance he has, is being able to defend his opinions.....and by trying to put the Raiders in a bad light, wasn't a winning idea.
You can give him credit for having an article well read, but he'll have a harder time trying to convince the Raider Nation that he's right....about the same amount of luck i'd have, trying to write about the Broncos, or the Bills this year.

yea man b-tate did play football, he played on my high school football team, so back off man, and leave tate alone

this team will win manyyyyyyyy games this year if our offensive line performs well. This season WILL be OUR season if our offensive line plays well. Jamarcus has PLENTY to throw to and he has PLENTY of backs to hand off to. Mark my words if we score 24 or more points this season then guess what......NOBODY beats us. Our defense will have many interceptions this year and will set up our offense to score points. The raiders will take the west and for u toothless niner fans......you have your own problems so concentrate on your own team you red and gold wearing half a man lol.

Mike49er, why in the world you feel your the expert on the Raiders is beyond me.
Mike49er: It's not so much I'm an expert, it's just that compared to most here, I'm a genius. Don't shoot the messenger. Someone has to deliver it, and lucky for you, I've been anointed.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I realize there is not much going on in SAN FRANCISCO but you better find something else to do with your time. You also probably shouldn't watch any Raider or SF football games this year because I am very confident you'll be very dissapointed.
Mike49er: I'm sure the all capitalization of SAN FRANCISCO has a hidden meaning. Let's just keep the answer to that our little secret.
As far as watching the above teams? yes, in that aspect you would be right, at least if history repeats itself. Disappoint ad nauseam. Well, at least as far as watching the Niners. Watching the Raiders, however, has provided some much needed comedy relief.
Thanks for that, by the way.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The ONE game Russell struggled in was Jacksonville.
Mike49er: the ONE game?? LMAO...boy, talk about being selective. Maybe you should go check again. Lots of grumblings in Raiderville on Lame's handling of Russell, as to when he was inserted, including when he started. Basically Lame BLEW IT, big time. In games you were in, because lame had already programmed himself to insert him, in went Russell...3 and out, 3 and out, in goes McCown, Raiders came up just short. I can't be bothered to go and check as to which games, so I'll leave that to you. I suppose you missed Kiffin's scathing comments about Russell's play? Let me guess...out of the country that day?
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
As for our WR's if you kept up with the Raiders you would know that we actually did sign another WR. His name is Drew Carter and he and Russell have been hitting it off in our mini camps since day one.
Mike49er: Wow. I mean....OMG...Drew Carter...THE Drew Carter?? He of the 8 td's in four years Drew Carter??? Lordy me...is that the same Drew Carter that ammassed that awesome average of less than 250 receiving yards a year for the last 4 years???
LOL...yeah...defenses are quivering in their boots.
As far as "hitting it off since day one'??? LMAO..from what I've heard is hit it off a little more with defenders than anyone. How the hell do you "hit it off" in minicamp? Let me guess? In all day practices, the qb threw some balls and WR's caught them? Oh well, in that case...yeah...symbiotic relationship, no doubt.
==============================================================
".On top of Drew we have Johnnie Lee Higgins, last years 3rd round pick, starting to get comfortable and he too has been very productive in camp.
Mike49er: IT'S MINICAMP..everyone is productive in minicamp. Geez. BTW..love that "starting to get comfortable"?? Is that another way of saying he's sucked up until now? Why not toss in "potential" which is another redundant form of HE SUCKS?
Yeah, another "scary" prospect. His SIX CATCHES in 2007 were definitely "impressive" *rolling eyes*
=================================================================
Mike49er: Ahhh..so what you're saying is you're really going out on a limb by stating the 31st ranked defense against the run will be better? WOW...high praise indeed. You got NOBODY to plug the holes. Spires is done. Only the Raiders were interested. Joseph rode the bench with limited play last few years. Edwards is toast...and...the "potential" tag means he's like every other draftee. I mean, don't they all have "potential"???
So, using new math it still comes up to the fact your D line is porous, shabby, and lacking.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
As for the Oline last year we brought in Tom Cable as our Oline coach and he changed our blocking scheme.
Mike49er: Yes, lol...you're a sheep. What else does a coach say? That now it's going to suck? Doesn't every coach blow smoke? Geez..look at you.."all rated very high coming out of college". EVERY PLAYER IN THE NFL WAS RATED HIGH IN COLLEGE...lol...I mean, you are aware that that is one of the top pre-requisites to getting in the NFL?? Doing really...really...REALLY good in college?
Unfortunately college is not the pro's.
Interesting that Raider fans ran the EXACT SAME TAKE on..oh...Walter. Same with Gallery. Same with Huff...on and on and on.
Now here's the bad news for ya...Wade's already slated as a backup..that's how "great" he's doing. Kwame Harris was benched for a year, then cut..because the guy was a human turnstyle for pass rushes. See, YOUR reasoning is "well..they sucked because they had "different coaches and schemes". So...now you add ONE MORE different coach and scheme. Yes, lol...more confusion, more "potential gone awry"
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Keep hating all you want Mike,
Mike49er: Hating??? HATING???? It's not hate.. I'm imparting words of wisdom. Bite your tongue, knave.
==========================================================
8-8 is a worse case scenerio for this team.
Mike49er: Now where have I heard that before??? OH YEAH...Raider fans said that last year...oh..and the year before...and before...AND before.
Thought it sounded familiar.
=========================================================
If half of these guys reach their potential we'll be playoff bound.
Mike49er: And if I could fly, I wouldn't worry as much about rising gas prices. Unfortunately for me, I can't fly, and unfortunately for you hoping "potential" replaces BUST is about as likely as it snowing in my kitchen.
Now, how sad, exactly, do you feel even stating that someone like Kwame Harris..who's SUCKED IN ALL OF HIS YEARS IN THE NFL, has "potential" because of what he did in college?
Pretty sad..don't you think?
==========================================================
As for your team be prepared for a miserable year. Mike Martz's offense and the players currently on your team are a match made in hell, 4-12 is their best case scenerio. Which is obvioulsy why you're here talking junk about my team. GO RAIDERS!!!
Mike49er: Way to end with a whimper. Martz is one of the best OC's in the league.
Isn't YOUR OC Greg "Predictable" Knapp????arguably one of the WORST in the league?? Why do you think Lame calls his own plays?
Considering you were two plays away from being 2-14 I wouldn't go crowing too much about Lame's play calling or your offense.
Oh..BTW...uh..."IF" Kwame gets Russell slammed into the turf, and woozy, or worse...who's your qb going to be?
ROFLMFAO...think about that prospect..and tell me it doesn't scare the hell out of you?
for that matter, what if Russell struggles?? THEN WHAT??

You do relize your team is mediocre at best and is in no danger of winning anymore then 5 games out of 16? You coach is in a lame duck year which is funny when you call Lane Lame if you really look at it you're proving what is said about all whinner fans true uneducated in the game living in myopia and waitting to go to a superbowl to get off their hands to cheer for that..can we call them a team? Well as I said before Pete Caroll is not comming to coach the 9ers next year so what's yorkies next move to take over the world? Hire another underqualified hot aired nothing to brag about how he's going to change the franchises thinking/atmosphere/phyque to turn them around to there proper place in history. I'll let you in on a little secret they are not very good and if they lined up against LSU last year they would have lost! So is it to the college ranks or a retred for you next year?

This is the webcast of the post game press conference. Lane speeks about JR and his review of his performance in the game vs the Chargers!
This is why you find the fans bashing you on your knowledge that appears to be gathered by the local news team in SF not by the facts. Jr looked good in the Chargers ame which was his first start!
Postgame Press Conference
Coach Kiffin and QB JaMarcus Russell spoke to the media after the 30-17 loss to the Chargers.

That's a pretty lame take if you don't think Carter was highly sought after in free agency let me tell you he was alot sought after then the 90 year old bruce who will be better off retireing and saving his dignaty then taken a hand out for a job so he know has got a chance to be a food runner for Martz!
Congrates on your number1!

I guess you would like to wager your offense will finish better then the Raiders or that the 9ers will finnish with a better record then the Raiders? I know you believe in your team and I bet you can find a lot of takers as well as a lot of people you can meet at the game!
=================================================================

So spires is done and Smith is great? 2 sacks I think you could've got two sacks for the bungles last year! Sapp was not a good run stoper last year that is true he hurt us in the run that is true We added players to the mix as stated and we feel it will shore up some of the leaks!
I would also remind you the 9ers where 1 yard better per att then the Raiders and we played tougher running teams then the 9ers so they where very comprable in rush defense LAST YEAR and with the improvements I think we will be the 12th ranked rushing D! Time will tell!
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
As for the Oline last year we brought in Tom Cable as our Oline coach and he changed our blocking scheme. FYI The results were outstanding. Instead of looking at Wade not slated as back-up but taken half of the snaps but with the 2's as newberry did last year before starting. Walter has not played a lot of games but he has looked sharper then Smith and we aren't paying him 50 million!
Gallary alloud 7 sacks last year and was part of the 6th ranked rushig offense.
Huff is in his natural position now and looking forward to havving a good year. In addition our Pass D will be much better then the 9ers obviously!
so please go on with the fountain of miss- information miss like in a girls name no typo!

Hey Mike49er, I just checked back in from when I wrote last.
You seem to be a traditional 49er fan, apparently not knowing football's ins and outs.
I live in Australia right now. I get every game on Yahoo NFL gamepass. I see them all. Its the only thing to do here. Which I doubt you can, does that make me better...no but I do see every game so I have some understanding of the Raiders. Listen to my points. Some of your points were not way off and the Raiders aren't perfect but if all goes well then who knows what they will do.
What I do want to say is, Russel isn't perfect but his arm opens up a deep game threat. Whether he does it well is another story. Our new talent may be unproven regarding health but "if all goes well" which was his comment. Meaning everything goes easy or without fault... overall good and well, then they could return to form and be healthy and productive.
Carter has speed, so does Walker if he is healthy and in shape, and I classify that under all going well.
My issue has always been that if all goes well then the sky is the limit. That is true for every team. Don't be another Raider Hater. Just use your football knowledge and common sense a little more before typing.
And until Smith is off the team than I would be less inclined to talk about QBs.
Anyone else notice that while Mike has a never ending speel of anti-Raider bias, he fails to acknowledge that Alex Smith is worthless?
Looking at the numbers, his TD/INT Ratio is 19/31, he's been sacked 81 times in 32 games, and has 2 fumbles.
This, is his future?
Heck, if he wanted better talent....maybe they can go find Ryan Leaf somewhere.

Where you even born in 90 gabe?
The Bills went to the superbowl 4 times straight they where not bad.
The Donks not only have a lower winning % but we own you head to head and should have swept you last year but the Rat got lucky not this year no Lamont which is Franch for Dummy this year you get Bush and Run DMC!
Good luck trying to stop the run this year Donks!
Well a below 500 season for the Donks is real too!
They better hope they can sweep KC that will be their only chance at wins in the west this year!
Have fun in Class and remember Broncos are for ridding not rooting!

Gabe, before you make yourself look even more foolish, a few things:
First of all, the Raiders have more wins, head to head against the broncos. Go look again.
Secondly, we're 19-5 ahead of the Billies.
Thirdly, 3 words. Super Bowl Wins.
Can you say, 0-4 in the big game? Sure, I knew you could.
You guys had a win, all locked up, ready to go home against the Giants.....and Norwide missed it.
Four straight appearances....four straight losses....before commenting on other teams, look at what you cheer for.

Actually, Gabe, you have that wrong. The Raiders lead the all time series against the Broncos 54-39-2.
PS-we lead the series 19-15 with the (never won anything) Jills (one of the easier east coast road games on the schedule this year).

the raiders do lead the all time series, but under mike shanahan the broncos have won about roughly 20 out of the 24 games against raiders, so who cares about the past when we all know you guys are stupid for firing a future hall of fame coach.

That future Hall Of Fame coach better win this year or he could be knocking on Uncle Al's door for a coordinators possition!

Um, gabe, this same future hall of fame coach you're talking about, was a joke, except for one player, and that was Terrell Davis. Until Terrell came along, Elway was just like Kelly, an ofer. Elway's biggest problem, was the belief that he could do it all. This singular mindset cost Reeves a job, and even when Shanahan finally got recycled, it took some time. But like you'd say, what have you done for me lately, it's been almost 10 years since Denver's been to a super bowl. How long has it been for buffalo?

I feel it all depends on the offensive and defensive lines. If they can stop the run and pass block they will be greatly improved, but I have my doubts because they brought back the same old dogs they had last year and those dogs sucked. All the additions they signed is great but I still feel they never directed any attention to either line. Coach Cable is a fine coach but coaches don't block or tackle. I say show me you can do the job. I feel real sorry for Jamarcus when they do not allow him to roll out and the Raiders have to pass block in the box.

8-8 worse case 9-7 if they get it together 12- 4 if they trade for Peters winning the west and first round bye!

Tackles are our only real week spot and they can both run block below avg pass blockers!
So hope we don't get a trade worked out!
