With Robert Kubica taking the F1 world championship lead, is this the era of the rookie racers? Lewis Hamilton won his first grand prix this time last year, so it comes as no surprise that Montreal is the setting for Kubica's first win. Montreal has always been a circuit that surprises every year.

Hamilton, Kovalainen, and Kubica have all grown up with each other in motor-sports.  So are we seeing a revolution in the form of a generation of superstar racers?

This revolution took hold last year, with Hamilton blowing the championship apart by nearly becoming a world champion in his first year. No one could have predicted this would happen, so when it did Hamilton became a household name. No doubt in Kubica's home country of Poland people have done the same.

So what's in store? BMW-Sauber have shown that they can build a race-winning car with their podium 1-2 at Montreal. Kubica could be the surprise winner of the 2008 championship.

So the touchpaper is lit! It is time for the rookies to blow their way through the F1 championship. We will have to wait and see.

Watch out Ferrari! The rookies are on the attack!
