Milwaukee Brewers: Give Matt LaPorta a Chance in the Majors

Anthony ForsytheContributor IJune 8, 2008

Welcome all,

As you can just tell by the picture alone, the man is Matt LaPorta for the Milwaukee Brewers.  Currently he is one of the best hitters in the minor leagues, and is still at Double-A Huntsville.  His stats through June 7th, 2008 are currently this:

AVG.   R   H   2B   3B   HR   RBI   BB   SO   OBP   SLG

.293   44  67  17    2    16    52    35    47  .406   .594

As you can see, he is absolutely tearing it up!  Why are they not calling this man up?  Every week he seems to be getting better in the minors and I think that if you give him a chance and promote him to AAA, he can prove that even though he is young, he can be a huge asset to this team.

Please give me your opinion and let me know how this should all be handled.

Thank You,

Anthony
