NASCAR: Elliott Sadler Agrees to Extension with Gillett Evernham

Toby ChristieSenior Analyst IJune 8, 2008

Elliott Sadler has shown some promise in 2008 that his Number 19 team may be turning things around, but he hasn't got the finishes he deserves due to bad luck.  Sadler though has shown enough to George Gillett and Ray Evernham, to warrant a multi year contract that will keep him in the Best Buy Dodge.

Sadler has two Top-10 finishes thus far in 2008, which equals his amount from last season and we are only 13 races in.

"This is the place where I want to race," Sadler said. "I think what we are building here is special and something other drivers and crew members envy."

Sadler's last win came in 2004 at California, but maybe with the confidence of having a home guaranteed for a few years will boost his confidence.

"Elliott is a well-respected driver who has the skills, both on and off the track, to succeed in NASCAR," team CEO Tom Reddin said.
