Tim Henman's Dream Run: Paris, 2003

For many years, British No. 1 Tim Henman was viewed by the British public as nearly the man of men's tennis. However, all of that was put right in the Masters Series event in Paris as Henman claimed the first Masters Shield of his career.
Henman defeated the likes of Sebastian Grosjean, Andy Roddick, and Roger Federer before beating Andrei Pavel in the title match to secure a superb victory.
What made Henman's victory all the more impressive was the fact that Roddick and Federer had both won their maiden Grand Slam title that year at the US Open and Wimbledon, respectively, and both were battling to end the year as World No. 1.
Henman did not win another Masters Series event, but he did make a few finals, like at Indian Wells the following year where he was beaten by the World No. 1 Roger Federer, 6-3 and 6-3.
The Englishman reached six Grand Slam Semifinals in his career.
Henman never managed to upset the odds and win a Grand Slam title.
