Saints Place Former Pat on IR, Sign Former Pat
The New Orleans Saints have announced that they have placed fullback Heath Evans on injured reserve, and they have signed fullback Kyle Eckel. Both Eckel and Evans played with the Patriots in 2008.
The Saints have used Evans for more plays than any other fullback in the league, and Evans had been involved in some occasional passes and runs. Eckel has also spent time with the Miami Dolphins.
The Saints also signed Herb Donaldson to their practice squad. He replaces P.J. Hill, who was signed to the Eagles active roster. Donaldson spent time with the Saints as an undrafted free agent this offseason.
