British No. 1 Tim Henman went into his second round match against Lleyton Hewitt in Miami with a terrible record against the Australian. Hewitt had won all eight of the duo's previous meetings and he would have been favorite to make it nine out of nine.
Hewitt took the tennis world by storm back in 2001 when he won the US Open, beating the legendary American Pete Sampras in the final 7-6, 6-1, 6-1.
Hewitt went on to finish that year as the world No. 1 for the first time in his career. There was nothing to separate Henman and Hewitt early on, but eventually the Englishman edged out the first set on a tiebreaker.
Clearly buoyed by his first set victory Henman started to play with a lot more freedom and confidence as he won the second set 6-3 to claim a superb 7-6, 6-3 victory and finally break his duck against Hewitt.
It is hard to see Hewitt upsetting the odds and winning another Grand Slam title.
