VANCOUVER, CANADA - OCTOBER 17: The puck trickles past Goalie Roberto Luongo #1 of the Vancouver Canucks after failling to stop a shot by Mikko Koivu #9 of the Minnesota Wild (not pictured) during the first period of NHL action on October 17, 2009 at General Motors Place in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. TSN is reporting that Vancouver Canucks goalie Roberto Luongo has a fractured rib, and will miss at least a week.

Luongo joins Daniel Sedin, Pavol Demitra, and Sami Salo among the injured stars in Vancouver, who has struggled coming out of the gates this year (6-6-0, 12 pts, 4th place in the Northwest Division).

Demitra just had a second procedure on his bad shoulder last week, and will miss another eight weeks. Sedin and Salo should be back in December.

Luongo is allowing 2.79 goals per game this year, and recorded his first shutout of the season earlier this week against Edmonton. Vancouver lost 5-4 at Detroit Tuesday night.
