Chelsea defeated Blackburn at Stamford Bridge on Saturday with the fantastic result of 5-0. The football "conductor" Carlo Ancelotti had his team playing in complete harmony.
The main ingredients that contributed to Chelsea’s victory were Joe Cole, who has returned to true form, another amazing performance from central midfielder Frank Lampard, and the undeniable talent of the “Black Pearl” Didier Drogba.
Blackburn's day started on the wrong foot with Givet's own goal in the 20th minute.
Although The first half finished 1-0, the second half would jump off to a quick start. A goal in the 48th minute from Lampard, was followed up minutes later by wonderful shot from 35 yards out by Michael Essien.
Chelsea continued to dominate on the pitch, and in the 56th minute Drogba was fouled by Nelsen in the penalty box. Lampard made them pay by confidently slotting in the spot kick for Chelsea's fourth goal.
However, this was not the end of the pathetic tragedy of Blackburn. The result went up to five after Ballack's corner was headed in by Drogba.
Chelsea showed that it is one of the most effective teams in the Premier league.
It was not only the most picturesque match but also the most multicultural regarding the nationalities of the players. It registered a top record of 21 players from different countries.
